25

Friday was one of my older brother's 25th birthday, so on Saturday we decided to go out to eat for lunch and I thought I would share this occasion on my blog. The restaurant we went to was called Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and the restaurant itself was
huge with two stories inside and a large outdoor patio outside. We were able to get an outdoor seat which was great considering the day was beautiful. My mother and I were able to surprise my brother by inviting one of his best friends and her husband. She used to work in a bakery so she makes delicious deserts and we were also able to get her to make a cake too.

The cake she made is called a Hummingbird Cake and it's a banana-pineapple spice cake with cream cheese frosting. Everyone said their food was pretty good, however I probably should have ordered something other than a cheeseburger because it wasn't the tastiest burger and I also wasn't in the mood to try anything new, but hey, there's always next time!

After we finished our lunch and ate some cake we walked around and visited some shops. There were a lot of antique shops that had amazing items, but I had to keep telling myself that I really don't need anything and opted for some handmade honey & almond soap that I can't wait to try. In the last photo you can also see the outfit I wore. My top is from Gap, my skirt is from Forever 21, and my boots are from H&M. Today was a pretty enjoyable day and I'm happy that I was able to get outside rather than stay cooped up inside at home. Unfortunately, now I have to start working on two major group projects/presentations and study for a math test. Wish me luck!

If you're ever in Texas around the Hill Country and you're hungry, then you should make a stop at Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar, but try not to order the cheeseburger as I promise you, you won't miss out on anything.
